Slovensko - Week 14 in Trenčín (some names changed for privacy)

Sorry, I don't have much time today...
But this week we had exchanges! Sestra Farnsworth had Sestra Sawyer, my companion last transfer. And I spent the day with Sestra Spencer, with whom we found a new investigator, who actually ended up being a former! So cool!
Left-Right: Sestra Sawyer, Starsi Goddard (hidden), starsi Petersen, Sestras Farnsworth & Spencer
Also, Starší Goddard had his birthday today and requested a cake with the Trenčín castle on it... I tried my best :)

We've had a pretty good week and we're excited for another. This transfer is flying! But it's been so good. A few more weeks and I'll be in my last transfer... how weird is that!
Anyway, I love you all and hope you have an amazing week!

Mám vás ráda!

Slovensko - Week 13 in Trenčín (some names changed for privacy)

This week we had lots of time for "finding" which consists of mostly tracting door to door, contacting, and calling people. We did quite a bit of all of these... and we found three people to teach who formerly investigated the church and are hopefully ready to hear more now!

Also, we went and visited some of our members this last week. Sister Avonažirk had us stack wood at her place and she made us some lunch: halušký!!!! Literally the greatest food of Slovakia. And we visited Sister Avorotkod, whose mom was unfortunately sick, but Sister Avorotkod still fed us and we shared a spiritual thought with her from the bible about how we can find peace in Christ who gives it to us so that we can go through life with Him at our side.

Last of all last week, we started up sports night! It's finally warm enough that people will start to come outside and sport. Unfortunately, we only had one person show up... hopefully this week we'll have better attendance. It was still so fun though! We played with a frisbee - I love frisbee!!!! - and we played with a soccer ball, turns out, I'm not so coordinated with my feet having to handle the soccer ball... hahaha it's okay, literally the only one of us in our district who's sporty is Elder Goddard... the rest of us can try but we aren't super successful :P

This morning for P-Day we went on a hike along a road and through some trails to go and find two kostels that were closed because it's a Monday. But it was still so much fun! And then we ate Ice-cream and palacinky with the elders :)

Slovensko - Week 12 in Trenčín (some names changed for privacy)

Two capitols, Two Countries, One Mission
Translated for these sisters from Slovak into English for and American sister visiting.

This week has been all over the place! It's so good to finally be back in Trenčín!

On Monday we went to Trenčín castle for the first time and it was so beautiful and so much fun! We hiked a little here and there, our skirts were having some trouble with the wind, and we had some great district bonding!

On Wednesday things started to get a little crazy. We started off by helping our friend Lovap do some service at his restaurant. Sestra Farnsworth and I got to spray/wipe down a ton of outdoor chairs. With a hose :D I loved it hahaha! Springtime is finally here and things are starting to warm up! (yesterday, so many families were out on their bikes - Czechs and Slovaks love it when it gets warm!) Anyway, after service, we got on a bus and went all the way to Prague! I got my visa finally! We got to say with Sister Ludlow - my MTC companion -, and Sister Jensen! Then the next day we went all the way to Bratislava - the capitol of Slovakia - via train and stay with the sisters there... because... we had zone training on Friday which was amazing! It's so wonderful all of the things you can learn from those who have stewardship over us given to them by God to lead us and help us become the best we can!

Then on Saturday and Sunday we had District Conference for all of Slovakia which is like a Stake Conference except we aren't big enough to be called a stake yet. It was so nice to see all of the missionaries serving in Slovakia plus all of the members who love this gospel so much. Their testimonies are truly humbling, they're so beautiful!

I love this gospel so much! I know it's true. I know that serving God's children whoever they may be is the greatest work we can do here because we are literally all brothers and sisters and need to be in continuous realization of that and of all that He has given us to succeed in this life!

I love you all so much!
Mám vás ráda!
Mějte se hezký!

Slovensko - Week 11 in Trenčín (some names changed for privacy)

Just the Little Miracles

So this last week was a little shorter than normal since I last e-mailed on a Tuesday. But anyway... Quite a lot has actually happened though!

On Wednesday we had two lessons. One with Alej, our English student who said that she's looking for a relationship with God, she is an eternal investigator and has interesting ideas about life.

On Thursday, we found an old Catholic man while we were tracting who told us that we could come back. He fed us some pretty awful tuna salad. Elder Petersen literally saved my life with that! I was running low on bread to eat with it and so he shared hahaha.

Elder Petersen is also our new 1st counselor in the branch presidency! All of my MTC elders are doing so good, my whole MTC group!

Then, on Saturday we found a new investigator! Kirtap- a child of the streets -. We're hoping for the best! He said he's had some supernatural experiences so it should be very interesting hahaha.

Today, we'll be going up to Trenčín castle. So excited! I'll be able to send pictures next week :)

ONE WEEK LATER, HERE ARE THE PICTURES FROM TRENčIN CASTLE:

Slovensko - Week 10 in Trenčín (some names changed for privacy)

Happy Easter!
Anyway, this last week was good! I got my new companion, Sister Farnsworth!
Then on Wednesday we went to Brno to do some group finding about Easter with our zone. Sister Farnsworth and I found three people who might potentially meet with the missionaries there in the future!

On Thursday, Sister Farnsworth and I fasted. Our mission had been doing a sort of forty day fast, where one companionship fasted each day before Easter came, and that was our day! It was so good! Fasting is such a great way to feel even closer to God and to feel more spiritual because of the sacrifice it involves.
And then, on Saturday evening we started watching General Conference! Such good suff in there! I can't wait to get it all in writing!

Yesterday was Easter Monday and we got whipped. We made whips out of eight bendable branches that are clean-cut which we braided together. Then on that day, we went to our branch president's house and there was a little boy and a dad there who whipped us by basically barely touching us with the stick over and over on the legs - supposedly for our beauty and health - and the little boy  also squirted us with a water gun, he got me right in the ear hahaha his aim was good :) .

Then we had breakfast there which consisted of potato salad and some meats and some little cake type things.

Then the elders whipped us hahaha... probably one of the most interesting experiences of my life so far hahaha

Today we visited Beckov Castle. They are castle ruins located in Beckov; which is a part of Trencin.

So Happy Easter!!!
I love you all! Mějtě se!
Mám vás ráda!!!
